It's been a long time since we've been able to update progress from Colombia. Overall things are going very well. The site was shut down for a long time in late summer and fall due to the pandemic but activities have since resumed. The Rectory and Parish Center has been built and Fr. Robinson Leon has been living at the site and overseeing the work. Father Victor spoke with Fr. Leon and requested a report on how the funds were being used and he sent him a report in Spanish, which Father Victor translated.
Good Shepherd & St. Augustine's have sent $30,000 thus far and The Apostolic of Mitu' have used this money to complete the construction of the Parish Center, Rectory and to begin the building of the church. We have included a marked up copy of the
financial report, which is listed in pesos.
In the picture above, the teal colored building is the Center and the natural wood building that is adjacent is the Rectory. The Church footings have been set next to these two structures and work has now started on building the Church.
"With a deep sense of gratitude for this support received for the Church missionary, present among the indigenous communities of the territory that comprises the Vicariato Apostolic of Mitu', we send this economic report and a presentation showing the progress that has been made, thanks to the support and generosity of so many good-hearted people who have wanted to commit to this noble cause that contributes to the expansion of the Kingdom of God, participating actively in the sending that Jesus has made of his disciples to go to the ends of the earth to announce His name to all nations."
