Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 4:30 PM, Good Shepherd will once again have a float in the Uxbridge First Holiday Night. There are four ways you can help the parish’s Evangelization Team event be a success.
1. Volunteers are needed to decorate the float on Saturday morning, December 7 at 10 AM.
2. A group of volunteers to take all decorations and the manger and etc. off the float after the parade at Good shepherd around 6 PM.
3. Carolers to sing Christmas carols along the parade route down North Main Street beginning in North Uxbridge and ending at the Uxbridge town common. Carolers are to meet at Rivulet Street at 4 PM. (look for our manger float). Bring a battery operated candle to help you see the words. This year we are inviting our neighboring parishes, St. Mary’s, St. Patrick’s, St. Peter’s, St. Augustine and St. Dennis to sing carols with us and have a banner from their parish wishing a “Merry Christmas” to be placed on the float.
4. Looking for volunteers to help on the common where we will have our canopy/tent from 4-7:30 PM giving out hot cider (we gave away over 250 cups last year) and a bund of Christmas give-a-ways (rosaries, ornaments, prayer cards, children’s crosses and bibles, etc.) Even if it is an hour of your time it would be a great help.
This is what evangelization is all about! Sharing the faith you love with others!
What better time than at Christmas! If you are coming to the parade, look for us at the common and you will see our Good Shepherd banner promoting our parish for all to see “HOW CAN WE SERVE YOU”. Watch for our float in the parade and help say Merry Christmas! More information will follow in the coming weeks.
