Welcome to the OLV update, a biweekly entry to your parish bulletin. Here we will post news and information regarding Our Lady of the Valley Regional School, the wonderful Catholic elementary school in the Blackstone Valley, sponsored and supported by Good Shepherd Parish, St. Mary Parish, St. Patrick Parish and St. Peter Parish. We are blessed to have your prayers and support!
We recently recorded our one hundredth day of classes at Our Lady of the Valley, and this milestone has added meaning relative to the myriad challenges bravely faced and superbly handled this year by our wonderful families, faculty, staff and students. To celebrate, rooms were decorated, student collections of one hundred items were presented and a dress down day was granted. Additionally, our eighth graders marked the occasion with shamrock shakes, getting an early jump on St. Patrick's Day.
We are confident that we will continue to forge ahead in fine fashion, working through the curriculum and instruction with the academic rigor that is the trademark of Our Lady of the Valley. We are especially proud to have been able to include special classes along with the traditional religion, English, math, science and social studies offerings. Our students have had outstanding instruction in physical education, Spanish, values, art and music.
We look forward to expanding our specials as we construct The GRACE Center. This building addition will provide us with not only the space for additional offerings in art and music instruction but also the opportunity to add theater arts and technology; all of these infused by our commitment to faith formation across the curriculum.
Thank you for your continued prayers, friendship and support! Please continue to spread the word about Our Lady of the Valley Regional School and the wonderful things happening at our school. Please follow our Facebook page at Our Lady of the Valley Regional School and share the updates with family and friends.
God Bless You and Yours!
